Documentation center

The Documentation Center was created at the initiative of a few volunteers of the AELR, devoting their time in collecting documents and books presenting an aerospace interest.
But it was only in the early eighties that an organized methodology was used for identifying and sorting out the accumulated mass of documents. This proved to be very successful and today, thanks to the continuous efforts of a handful of volunteers, we are very proud to present to the specialists and to the public a unique Documentation Center.
The Center is located at the rear of the Main Hall. It is accessible during the opening hours of the Museum. It allows free consultation of books, magazines and collections of international level covering all subjects dealing with aerospace, from its origin till today.
The library contains more than 10.000 monographs, studies or historical files and 8.000 technical documents.
The phototeque contains an amazing 30.000 pictures and soon a diatheque section will be opened. The filmotheque features over 200 films.

Book and Souvenir Shop

The Book and Souvenir Shop is located close to the main entrance of the Museum.
The shop is taken care of by the "Museum Promotion" association whose members are the AELR and three other associations (Marine, Museum and Tank), partners of the Royal Museum. To mention that our Association provides the majority of the volunteers responsible for the management of the shop.
The shop is open during the operating hours of the Museum. The visitors can find there many books related to the various branches of our armed forces, particularly the history of our Air Force and its related equipments.
Squadron badges, pins, posters and mock-ups can be bought by the visitors and fans. Children are not forgotten: they will find toys and strip stories.
The shop can only function thanks to the goodwill of the volunteers. Candidates are most welcome to join the group, so as to enable us to better respond to the demand of a steady growing number of visitors. For additional information please ask the reception desk or send an e-mail to
